During an interview broadcasy by State-run Venezuelan Television (VTV)*, Venezuelan Vice President Aristóbulo Istúriz ensured that President Hugo Chávez “defines Venezuelan politics”. He also indicate that the love of the Venezuelan people for President Chávez will determin the results of this year’s presidential elections on October 7.
“The people will accompany and love Chávez. He is in every barrio in this country,” the government official indicated. Istúriz also explained the importance of ensuring “the irreversability of the revolution” and that we “must move toward a communal socialist State”.
“Capriles cannot confront Chávez”
During the interview, National Assembly Deputy Istúriz assured that the presidential candidate of the United Democratic Alternative (MUD), Henrique Capriles is not capable of debating President Chávez. “That’s why he avoids the confrontation of ideas. If I were advising Capriles, I would tell him not to open his mouth.”
Istúriz went on to say on State TV that “Capriles would have trouble debating with Chávez because he is neither autonomous nor creative and that he has nothing to say”. The vice president went on to demonstrate his confidence in a Chávez victory in the presidential elections, as “Capriles only offers Venezuela a bourgeoisie State”.
